Valley is committed to providing experiences for parents to learn alongside their children. Family education is an opportunity for students and their parents (and/or grandparents) to focus on a topic based in the grade-level curriculum. Each grade is scheduled for at least one family education session per semester. The sessions include material relevant and engaging for both the students and parents, as well as an activity to do together to allow for some Jewish bonding coupled with some Jewish learning. Rabbi Kopnick teaches many of the family education sessions, with some guests and occasionally the classroom teachers take a turn, too.
