Selichot
Begin the High Holy Day season by attending an adult education session at 8:00 p.m., followed by a dessert reception at 9:30 p.m. At 10:00 p.m. we will mark the end of Shabbat with a Selichot service and the candle, wine and spices of Havdalah. Selichot, which means forgiveness, previews the Ten Days of Awe (Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur). You will not want to miss this special service, which includes prayer, songs, and dressing our Torah scrolls in their white covers.
During this year's adult education, we welcome author Michael A. Meyer to discuss his latest book Above All, We Are Jews: A Biography of Rabbi Alexander Schindler.
