The mission of the Valley Temple Sisterhood, as part of the Women of Reform Judaism, is to promote connections among the women of Sisterhood, our children, the Temple, and our local and global communities. We aspire to achieve this goal by providing opportunities for spiritual, social, and intellectual growth while sharing our resources and support with the educational, religious, and recreational programs of The Valley Temple.
Our Sisterhood is affiliated with the Women of Reform Judaism.

C’hai Life Membership The Valley Temple women of Sisterhood have been doing a program called Chai Life since 2004. This program, originally called Jewels, began as a way for Women of Reform Judaism members to include their daughters ages 18 and younger in Jewish programming. But we found out almost immediately that many of our sons also wanted to participate. So we renamed our group Chai Life and it includes all of our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Chai Life is Sisterhood’s way of helping its members introduce the camaraderie that Sisterhood provides to the special young people in their lives, so that when they are grown, they will understand that Sisterhood is a special place to express Jewish values.Chai Life programs typically occur at noon after religious school on Sunday and there are 4-5 programs throughout the year. We usually offer pizza for lunch for a small fee before starting. Chai Life programming has included:
- making fleece blankets for Project Linus,
- decorating planting pots for parsley for the Passover plate,
- designing art with Jewish calligraphy,
- making Hanukkah cards for elderly congregants and community members,
- making Hamantaschen baking for Purim,
- participating in yoga and self-defense workshops.
Membership fees are $9 for each child (maximum of $18 for two or more) which goes towards the cost of programming. Membership forms are mailed each fall with the Sisterhood membership forms. Keep an eye out for them and join in on the fun!

My camper doesn’t go to GUCI or Livingston, but I’d still like to send them a VTS Care Package. What can I do?
VTS Care Packages are available for in person pick up at Valley Temple 145 Springfield Pike Cincinnati, Ohio 45215. You can order and pay online and pick up your personalized VTS Care Package in person. You can then pack it in your child’s bag, or ship it to them at camp.
What information do I need to send a VTS Care Package?
You will need your camper’s first and last name, camper’s age and gender, camp name and session, and which delivery date you would like.
Can I choose the items I want in the VTS Care Package?
This year we are offering a “Create a Case Package” day on May 21st from 11-2 at Valley Temple. We will have all our merchandise out and you can choose any 5 items you like.
Unfortunately, we are not able to take specific requests on-line. You are able to mark the age and gender of your camper on the online check out. We do our best to provide packages that are engaging to each age group and try to avoid duplicates for campers receiving multiple packages.
How do I send packages to more than one camper?
Sending VTS Care Packages is easy. Place a separate order for each camper, so that you can individualize for the age and gender.
Can I send more than one package to my camper?
Yes, you may send multiple packages. We now offer 2 deliveries each session, so you can send one package in the first week and another in the 3rd week. If multiple packages are ordered for the same week, the camp will make the decision of when to pass out the packages. We try our best to not have duplicate items in care packages going to the same camper.
Can anyone order a VTS Care Package?
Yes, anyone can order a VTS Care Package. This is the perfect way for grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends, neighbors or anyone to easily send your child a care package.
How will my camper know who the VTS Care package is from?
When you place an order for your VTS Care Package, you will have the opportunity to write who the package is from. This information will be written on the package.
